Reviewer: Jessica S. (Santa Barbara, CA)

I have used a small sony tape recorder and a sanyo transcriber for most of my career. I have been scared to try a digital recorder until I found this court reporter 5000. When I learned it recorded just like a tape recorder I was shocked. When I get home I just plug the foot pedal into the recorder and it becomes a digital transcriber just like my old tape unit. This is great. Thanks Martel.

Reviewer: Meg B. (Washington DC, DC)

The Sound quality is the best. The microphones on the top give me around 40 feet of pick up. The best feature is the pause button, I pause it around 5 times a day during breaks and side bars. On my last Olympus digital recorder I ended up with 5 files for one day, now I just have 1 file for the entire day with the court reporter 5000. I was so impressed I also bought the Elite Court reporters microphone. Both of them are terrific I would recommend it to every court reporter.

Reviewer: Pamela J. (Miami, FL)

I have tried the cheap hand held digital recorders before. I had to convert the files back to .wav to import them into the court reporter software. It was too difficult and time consuming. Then I got the court reporter 5000. It records in .wav normally and can record 100 of hours in .wav without turning off. Most the time I just use it has a digital transcriber by plugging the foot pedal into the side and scoping my work. I have to hand it to Martel, this is the perfect court reporter back digital recorder.

Reviewer: Jan T. (San Jose, CA)

I have finally found a digital recorder that has 5 times the sound quality of my Toshiba's audio sync. I used to get buzzing in my audio sync recordings and had a hard time hearing testimony in depositions. I now realize it was cell phones causing that interference. I was so relieved find this court reporter digital recorder that cant be interfered with by cell phones. It's the perfect back up, and not only that is recordings are superb.

Reviewer: Samantha K. (Dallas, TX)

I bought the court reporter 5000 digital recorder for my agency. The sound is about 5 time clearer than my old auto reverse sony tape recorder. I should have switched to this a year ago when I was going though a tough case. When I get home I just plug the foot pedal into the side of the recorder and its a digital transcriber. Scoping goes my faster when I can hear every word. Yes it cant be interfered with by blackberry cell phones. I know because I have a blackberry. This is the best court reporter digital recorder.

Reviewer: Karla S. (St. Paul, MN)

If you are a court reporter you need to get a digital back up recording device. I lost 2 laptop recordings that were only partially done. If I would have had the court reporter 500 digital recorder I could have reproduced the depos. I wont make this mistake again. The audio files it makes can also be imported back into my court reporting software. I also bought the HGMUSB court reporter microphone. Both the court reporter microphone and the digital recorder are small for fitting into my purse. I love the sound quality and pick up range of both.

Reviewer: Sandra T. (Huntsville, AL)

Lately I have been losing audio sync recordings on my laptop. When I could get a recording a got allot of buzzing. I figured it out it was cell phones in my depositions. I learned that the only digital recorder that was cell phone free of interference was this recorder. The audio files can be imported back into my court reporting software which is a huge plus. The biggest surprise was the foot pedal that plugs into the side making it a convenient digital transcriber with out a computer. Well thought out in my opinion. Every court reporter should own one.

I was getting a radio station recorded onto my laptops audiosync recordings. I needed a back up so I bought the Digital Reporter 5000. Not only was it just like my tape recorder it worked like my transcriber only digital. I change memory cards during depos just like I use to change tapes. When I get home I just plug the foot pedal into the side and its the world's only digital transcriber without a computer. Martel sure makes the exact products us court reporters need.
