Wow what a difference a great microphone can make. I needed a perfect marantz microphone to use with my Marantz PMD660 and PMD661. The Marantz microphone I got from Martel is really clear. Its helped me with my pick up range also. I am getting around 30 feet of coverage from each marantz microphone. Its worth the money to get the perfect recording. Try it you will love the marantz microphone with XLR or also know as cannon connector. They are what I learned balanced microphones.
