Description

Hands down, this is the simplest portable meeting voice recorder we have ever made. The DM430 has all the same buttons as a normal meeting tape recorder, but all the benefits of digital conference recording equipment. The meeting microphones don't need batteries. 

If you have used a Marantz recorder or any other basic tape recorder, you can operate the DM430. No fancy menu's or learning the commands. Don't end up with a digital meeting recorder for windows, where you have to carry around a laptop.

The recordings end up on an SD memory card which is completely solid state, and can record 100 hours of audio on each SD card. These cards are completely re-usable so you never have to worry about buying cards or tapes again.

When choosing a recording device for meetings, it's very important to understand "Pickup Range". Microphones are what get your portable meeting voice recorder that pickup distance. 2 Conference microphones are included, extending the pickup range to cover up to 60 feet (ca. 18 m) by 60 feet (ca. 18 m). Even the largest meeting or conference rooms are fully covered.

The LCD screen displays all the relevant information about the recording and the recorder functions. It can swivel up or down for comfortable viewing. Also, the DM430 comes with an AC Power Cord and can also run on AA batteries and a Carrying Case.

Expert Tip:
When setting up your two meeting microphones, arrange them into a cross pattern. When you have a large table say 18 feet (5.49 m) and conference people sitting all around the table you will need to move the meeting microphones 3 feet (0.91 m) from the end of each table. The pick up range of the conference microphones is in a circular 360 degree pattern, with an up ratio of 6 feet (1.83 m) height. Ok, what does this mean to you, the microphones will pick up 18 feet (5.49 m) around them, so in the center of the conference table, they will overlap the voice impedance patterns to give you an entire surround sound or voice field. 

Definition: Voice field is a professional term for when meeting microphones cross pick up each other creating a stereo recording effect. Why do you want a stereo effect? The answer is simple, and it has to do with how the brain works. When listening back to a meeting, audio recording the person listening/transcribing has two earphones, one in each ear. If you have set your meeting microphones to have a sound field or stereo effect the brain of the person listening to the conference will be able to understand what is being said up to 51% better than if you recorded in a mono recording.

    The easy recorder is perfect for our Government meetings. The microphones are sensitive and do not require a battery. The playback is loud on the speaker. I would highly recommend this meeting recorder.

    We have small meeting where we needed a good recorder. I love how this recorder has a simple record button. This makes it easy to use I just hit the record button and plug the conference microphones into the recorder. The sound is crystal clear. After the meeting I type the minutes up with the all n one transcription kit. This saves me hours every meeting. I don't worry anymore about recording and transcribing. I am not a technical person that why I love this recorder.

    digital voice recorders for large meetings

    I use this recorder in a very large meeting room. The boundary microphones picked up the voices 30 feet around the recorder. The meeting recorders button are so user friendly. It only took me about 5 minutes to learn and set up, then I was recording my meetings all by myself. The recordings are .mp3 universal audio files that anyone can play. Love it!!!

    This device was purchased for the City Clerk to record meetings. It works just as advertised and is simple and easy to use. The Clerk was very happy with the product and will be using it weekly or bi-weekly. We have just received it recently so we do not know about it's longevity. The only issue we had was the delay at customs in receiving the product. Everything else was great!

    I bought this conference/meeting recorder a year ago. I have recored several meetings and the audio is great. The microphones came with 10 feet of cable so I ordered a 20 foot extension from this company. Since then I have added 2 more microphones making it into a 4 microphone conference recorder.

    I love this conference recorder, its small, and portable for when I am traveling from office to office taking meeting for the sec filings. Martel definitely has a great product for recording conferences or meetings digitally to a sd card.

    That is what I feel like when trying to search for a conference recorder. 4X confused. I finally found Martel conference recording kits that include everything I need to record meetings and small conference. The stereo conference recorder package worked perfectly for me and did not break the bank. Need to start the day off right and really do not need to stop recording after not having the right equipment. I am so happy I found Martel.

    I needed to find out which meeting recorder would be the best for my needs. I read allot of websites but all of the talked about just a simple digital voice recorder. Ok. so most of the websites were of no use to a serious researcher like myself. I stumbled onto Martel website where I read in-depth information about meeting recorder packages. This was the type of real information I needed to make a decision. All of the packages came with multiple microphones, stands and all the accessories you are going to need to record a conference digitally. The recorder I chose had time date, 4 microphones, and even a digital transcriber so I could transcribe the minutes. Be careful websites stating top rate, best really do not have any bearing on what you need to record a conference or meeting. They are just simple voice recorders and most of them do not even include a ac power supply. Most of these digital voice recorders are made for simple memos. Some even have small recording times. What is important to take into consideration is that there is more than 450 different sound recorders and 15 different categories like music, nature, dictation, and telephone recorders. None of theses models will help you record a conference or business meeting. It is just a digital voice recorder alone you are going to get frustrated with the loss of voice recordings at you meeting. I good rule of measurement is price. You really can not get a solid top rated or even close to best meeting recorder kit without spending at least $300. The second huge tip off is that you will need at least 2 external microphones. Even better if they are boundary microphones with a omni direction pattern. This ensure 360 degrees of voice recordings. Third and most importantly is, are you going to have to store or transcribe the voice recordings. This is the snap in under $130 digital voice recorders. Some of them do not allow you to download to a pc or even have a type of audio file that can be played by a transcription software aka digital transcriber with usb foot pedal. Wow I hoped I helped you all out. I know it took me some time and frustration to get this all down. The meeting/conference recorders on Martel Electronics website all have the capabilities and features that are must haves that I mention in the above article. You will thank me for buying a Martel meeting recorder package.
