Last February the Oak Hill Police Department purchased an in-car video
camera from you. The camera has paid for itself numerous times over when
you consider the potential law suits as a result of unfounded citizen
complaints. On four (4) different occasions citizens made complaints against
my officers, once the video was shown to the complainers they left the
police station and never heard from since.
Our convictions of domestic violence and DUI's has
increased substantially. Obviously videoing the driving pattern and encounters
in DUI cases has substantially documented the officer's court testimony.
We also use the cameras to video domestic violence and the crime scenes,
something we could not do with a permanent mounted system. The officers
remove the camera at the scene and they video the victims statement, statements
of witnesses, injuries and the scene itself. Again this is excellent evidence
in court, especially if the victim attempts to relent in court.
Because of the success that the police department
has had using your system, including the use for training, we will be
buying two (2) more systems in the next couple months.
