I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about our in-car video camera systems.
In these days of shrinking law enforcement budgets, I have found that Martel Electronics offers a very attractive alternative for furnishing in-car video camera systems for law enforcement agencies. We are in the process of placing the Martel Dash-Hound in all of our patrol vehicles because of the significantly lower cost up front and the versatility of the units.
The Dash Hound provides us with the option of removing the camera from the patrol vehicle and using it to document both crime scenes and accident scenes. How many times have we anguished over the fact that we were unable to provide extremely valuable on-scene photographs from a crime scene? Regardless of how hard our first responder tries, many times things are moved or changed before the crime scene technician arrives. Now we have the capability to capture the scene from the beginning.
