Dear Martel,
My name is Tom Prado. I am the Chief Deputy Constable
for Precinct 3 in Bell County Texas. The MVP was donated to me by my VFW
Post 1820. It has been an excellent tool since I have had it. I received
it in Dec. of 2001. In January of 2002 I pulled up to a plane that had
crashed into a house in Temple Texas. The video showed the airplane still
on fire and people getting out of it. The video showed the firefighters
putting the fire out. The NTSB requested a copy of the tape for their
investigation. I showed the video to the fire department that put the
fire out and they used it for training purposes. In April of this year
I used my camera to video a house that three very young children lived
in. The house was being rented by a so called mom. The house was the most
disgusting place I have ever seen. There was human feces on the ground
all over the place, old food laying around, the oven was on so they could
use it for heat, a gas heater was a foot from the babys crib and
the so called mom blamed the 4 year old, the 2 year old and the 2 month
old for the house being so dirty. I pulled My Video Partner out and video
taped the whole house. In court the judge removed the kids from the so
called mom forever because of what the judge had seen on the video. The
judge later told me that was the most believable testimony he had heard
and seen because of the video. The video also helped me place a drug dealer
in prison for two years. The video tape of my encounter with the drug
dealer made the judge laugh because the lawyer attempted to suppress the
evidence against her saying I illegally gained access in her pockets.
When the video clearly showed me ask permission to search and her giving
me consent. The video did not lie. The MVP has proven to be an outstanding
tool in crime fighting. I have been very happy with the ease of operation
and how clear you hear everything on video. A city in my county, Troy
Texas, also uses the MVP and they it too. My camera comes out when I need
it, when the others are hard mounted in patrol cars. What a better way
to collect evidence. Thanks Martel Electronics for making my job easy.
