Dear Martel,
I would like to take the time to commend
you, as well as the entire team at Martel Electronics.
Your products are a Godsend for law
enforcement officers such as myself who work for smaller municipalities
which cannot always afford to provide their officers with the level of criminal
and civil liability protection offered by your product.
The cost-effectiveness coupled with
the ease-of-operation and versatility of your "Dash Hound" unit
are, in my opinion, far superior to what is currently offered to the law
enforcement community as a whole.
During the evening hours of Sunday,
April 14, 2002, my patrol sergeant and I were involved in a high-speed vehicle
pursuit with a suspect who was wanted in three separate counties in North
Carolina for various criminal, vehicle, and probation violations. Having
only recently purchased your product, I have to admit that I was more than
a little skeptical as to just how the unit would hold up. I cannot begin
to tell you just how wrong I was. Your product performed above and beyond
the call of duty. When I played the tape back, there was zero picture distortion
and an almost nonexistent detection of road surface vibration, even at speeds
in excess of 120mph. At one point in the pursuit I had to negotiate a 90
degree turn at very high rate of speed which required me to "slide"
my patrol vehicle sideways through the turn. Even during this maneuver the
tape playback showed little to no image distortion whatsoever. The suspect
was subsequently apprehended after he wrecked his vehicle into a ditch and,
due to the outstanding performance of your product, his actions are forever
preserved for later reference during prosecution.
Again, allow me to congratulate and to thank you and
the Martel team on a job well done and for products rugged enough to keep
up with a demanding profession such as mine. Keep up the good work and may
you have much success.
