The PMD 500 Return to Main Menu

APPLICATIONS
Duplication:
The workhorse PMD500 provides thereal-time duplicator with many helpful features. The
RC-5 remote capability combined with the optional
wired remote (WRC200mkII) allows control of multiple
units from one source. The A+B record button puts
both decks simultaneously into record pause, allowing
one-touch dual record. Wiring is saved by having only
one input source to feed both wells. With optical
sensing quick autoreverse plus exceptional sound
quality, the PMD500 is the ideal choice for economical
real-time duplication.
Audio Logging:
The continuous recording feature ofthe PMD500 allows it to record consecutively onto two
tapes. All transfers are optically sensing for minimal
loss of audio.
Houses of Worship:
For recording of sermons orservices, the PMD500 can record two masters at one
time or the continuous feature, with optical sensing
quick autoreverse, can be used to create near
seamless recordings.
Corporate:
The PMD500 is compatible with Marantz(RC-5), AMX, and Crestron control systems, to allow
easy integration into almost any system. Continuous
recording and playback, and the use of the timer
function, can provide unattended background music or
audio logging.
Hotels and Retail:
The continuous playback featureallows seamless background music from just one deck.
The serial record function allows for long term record
capabilities for meetings and other events. The optional
IR and wired remote controls allow full control of all
transport functions without having to be near the unit.
Recording Studios and Mastering Facilities:
Forprofessional studios interested in small scale real-time
duplication nothing beats the PMD500 in terms of
sound quality, reliability, and value.

RC-5 Infrared Remote Control Kits![]() |
| RC-5 Infrared Remote Control Kits The RC5PMD Infrared Remote Control Kit allows the user remote control access to the Marantz Professional line of commercial recorders and playback units. Each Kit Consists of the Following Items One IR handset controller. One IR receiver eye (requires an RCA cable to connect the eye to the Marantz RC-5 input on the controlled unit). One +9VDC AC Adapter. Two mounting options (a 1U rack panel and a single gang wall plate). Applications By mounting the receiver eye in the supplied 1U rack panel above the Marantz deck, operation is possible by aiming the IR handset at the rack--just as if the IR control was built into the unit. By mounting the receiver eye in a single-gang wall box and covering it with the supplied wall plate, the Marantz deck can be installed in an out-of-the-way location and still utilize the IR remote control. The Marantz unit can even be in a separate room up to thirty feet away without the need of additional signal boosting or distribution. This makes the Infrared Remote Control ideal for houses of worship, auditoriums, or board room operations, where the machine must be controllable, but out of sight. Low-cost, high-quality realtime duplication systems can be created with several PMD500s or PMD520s. Simply daisy chain the RC-5 control signals using standard RCA cables. Recording on all tape wells simultaneously is possible with the push of a single button on the IR handset. Available Kits RC5PMD: For use with Marantz models PMD500, PMD510, or PMD520. RC5PMDSW: For use with Marantz models PMD320, PMD321, PMD350, PMD501, or PMD502. |
