The DM246 was created specifically as a replacement for your 4 track court tape recorders. It has several key distinct advantages to Court agencies: Records 4 separate tracks of audio. Burns directly to a DVD for archiving. Record 6 hours of 4 track audio and burn 1 DVD a day.

The latest software update for the 4 channel transcription kit for windows 8.0 and 8.1 works fabulously. The 4 track transcription software kit helped us produce amazingly accurate transcripts for the court. Martel even gave us a extra license for senior court reporter. This is the worlds only 4 channel transcription kit that was made to work with the Martel DM246 it been tested and approved by the NY Supreme court.

When you need a multi-channel Court Recorder you should be researching a non pc system. PC Courtroom Recording is not a the best choice because of error in the operating system. Mistrials should be your greatest concern as a court clerk. reliability and convenience is going to be the best choice. So I would go with the DM246 Computer Court Recorder. The unit works just like a lanier tape recorder with the 4 channels or tracks. It comes with a 4 track transcription software kit with usb foot pedal for transcribing the court proceedings. Thats the best choice for reliable documents creation.

We researched recording equipment for our courtrooms. We found lots of software systems that used windows computers. They were so expensive I think the software was golden. We tried the Martel dm246 and the sound was super clear to my ear. Also we did not have to have a IT department to run the Martel courtroom system. If we went with a courtroom recording software machine we would have to have a IT team standing by all the time. Martel provided us with technical specifications installation planning and gave us the customer support we needed after the purchase. That is way more than I expected but I noticed that Martel Electronics has been in business for 60 years now. We also got the newest digital courtroom transcription kit software.

The courtroom recording software versus the standalone DM246. We have tried every software package in our courtroom and none of them have been easy to use.We finally bought a Martel DM246 system and its way easier to use. We love it.

When we were investigating whether to use courtroom recording software versus a stand alone digital court recording equipment this recorder had all the features we will looking for. The problem with recording of court proceedings is that they are critical and we can not have any computer failures. that is why we chose the DM246. The unit is small and has simple record, stop, play. So simple.

My court had waited 2 years now for a stand alone 4 channel courtroom recorder. We looked at a $6000.00 system and we just couldn't afford it. Thankfully Martel has made the DM246. We just couldn't rely on a software recording package that ran on windows for our important court cases.

My court was using the Lanier advocate for the last decade. I was so happy to find the Martel DM246 court room recorder with 4 channels of independent recording. Now we can record all day, then burn a dvd for storage. We are now replacing all 22 courtrooms with the DM246 courtroom digital recorder.

Me and my other co workers have been carrying around those huge Sony bm246 court room recorders for about a decade now. What a relief to have the new DM246 digital venison of the court room 4 channel recorder. Its so small it fits in a purse and weighs 2 lbs. I recommend them to all court rooms who are using the old sony bm246 tape recorders.

have worked in the courtroom as a court clerk for 9 years now. We used to use the sony bm246 cassette 4 channel tape recorder for our court. We switched over to the new courtroom recording equipment dm246. The sound is superior to tape and we saved allot of money by archiving them to dvd everyday. The System dm246 court recorder has brought us up to speed on the digital recording for court. The courtroom recorder is so easy it works just like a tape recorder, except it records to a memory stick. We also hooked into the dm246 court recorder, 2 wireless microphones. Court Recorder for multi-channel digital court recording. the dm246 has recording capabilities that are ideal to record court proceedings. The channels may be played back together or separately through the 4 channel transcription kit.

The 4 channel recording is great for hearing just the judge or witness. The four channel transcription kit is easy to use and the usb foot pedal works well with my pc.

We love the 4 channel courtroom recorder DM246. We outfitted our entire court system with them. We saved $4000 on each court room. All the other system were $6000 and up. This is a real bargain at $1595.00. I would recommended this court room recorder to record in court. We replaced a number of the sony bm246 tape recorders and Lanier advocate.
