Martel 2 Channel Recorder for Stenomask Reporters
This is the best replacement recorder for your old Marantz digital recorders. It has 2 inputs on the front one for your mask and one for your room microphones. The unit has phantom power for the room microphone input so you can buy the Martel Audio Grabber that does need a battery and the unit will power the microphones. The PMD3 recorder has a manual record level adjust knob on the front for each channel you mask and the room channel. It also has a bar showing you the record levels on you mask and room microphone. The recorder records directly to a SD card. The files are in the .mp3 format left and right channel. This is prefect for your transcription software. The recorder has 1/4 inputs for the mask and room recorder. This super recorder has every type of microphone input 1/8 3.5, 1/4 inch and XLR it will fit any stenomask you already own.
This recorder replaced the Marantz PMD670, Marantz PMD671, PMD660, and PMD661.

Finally a 2 or 4 channel recorder that looks great at a depo
I ordered it 2 weeks ago and used it on a job recently. I set it up on table with the kick stand legs up so I can easily read the display. Well it got noticed by a lawyer who said it looked really expensive. After the deposition I listened to the files on my laptop and the stenomask channel was so clear. The room microphone channel was amazing I heard conversations that I didn't get when I was talking into the mask. Definitely worth the money. I am writing this quickly since I am out the door for another job. Thanks Martel, you always have the highest quality equipment for court reporters.

Had to buy the DM671 its the replacement for the marantz pmd671 and pmd670
When I got the dm671 I noticed it had a rewind button on it. I cant believe my good luck that it can record just like a tape recorder. I can even do read backs in court. I can name the files with the keyboard Martel included in the package. So now I start a case number and name it and when I am done I can go right back to the case when I am scoping my work. I love the 2 channel transcription kit that came with it. I can toggle between my mask and the room microphone very easily. All in all its a much improved digital 2 channel recorder.

Works like my old tape recorder marantz pmd430 two channel recorder
I switched to the dm671 and have never looked back. It even has rewind like my old recorder. The unit though is expensive but worth the money. My only gripe is the price. I wish it was cheaper.
