Just like the HGM-1 in extreme pickup range and quality, the HGM-2 has a built-in battery tester. This ensures you a worry free day of crystal clear audio. Never again switch out that battery just because you are unsure of its charge.
As the most powerful microphone on the market, the HGM-2 will get you at least triple the audio pickup of the lesser microphones. Most computers and tape recorders come with an inexpensive microphone that will only pickup voices from 2 to 3 feet. There's a number of reasons for this, such as lack of power to the jack where you plug the microphone in. If your microphone doesn't use a battery, then its made for dictating (speaking within 2-3 feet of it). The HGM-1 utilizes a hi-power battery which lasts 600 hours and allows the microphone to actually track voices up to 75 feet away while filtering out background noise such as air conditioning & paper shuffling.
What makes the HGM-2 court reporter microphone so special? The Court Reporter Microphone utilizes a hearing aid IC chip to actively track the human voice making it the #1 selling court reporting microphone in the world. The software in this Court Reporter Microphone raises the human voice and lowers the back ground noise. This is extremely important when you are scoping to understand what is being said.

Great service. Great microphone. Will definitely come back and recommend to fellow court reporters.

I have used the Martel court reporter microphones for over 20 years now and they have never let me down. The voice quality can't be beat. My laptop and steno machine are at least 30 feet away from the witness and they sound just like they are talking into my microphone. Don't settle for anything except a Martel court reporter microphone.

My only complaint is the court reporter microphone hgm2 is too small. I forget its laid out sometimes. On the other hand its super powerful and picks up voice around 50 feet away.

So far so good. The sounds quality is awesome, like all Martel products I've bought in the past. It doesn't pay to scrimp on money and quality when it comes to your livelihood. Martel products are the best in my opinion! You can't beat the clarity or background noise elimination quality of these products.

I never knew when my battery was low now I just can push the button and it tells me. I love it, thanks Martel

I started with Martel products 12 years ago and about 4 years ago went to another product. BAD mistake. The other produce was never reliable. I was always concerned with it cutting off in the middle of depositions or court. I went back to Martel about a year ago and wish I had never left. Buying a new mic (conference grabber). I will always be with Martel.

I just ordered this microphone and can't wait till I receive it. I had Martel's mic in the past and it lasted a long time. I tried other brand mics before, and you can't hear as clear from a distance as Martel's mic. I had to come back to Martel. I also like that they have a battery tester on it. I highly recommend this mic.

I am ordering a second microphone for my Diamante writer. I already have this same microphone (now several years old) that I use for my laptop. This new mic will have a battery tester and I am eager to put it to use! I need equipment I know I can trust.

I have been using Martel's high gain microphone for 6 years now. Believe it or not, it has been working like a dream until my dog recently got a hold of it! What a shame. Am now getting the same mic with a battery tester and just know I will be as pleased with its performance as I was with first one.

This was worth the wait. They should have put the battery tester on the court reporter microphone years ago. Its more powerful than ever picking up voice is excess of 100 feet. Worth the money!
