The DM246 was created specifically as a replacement for your 4 track court tape recorders. It has several key distinct advantages to Court agencies: Records 4 separate tracks of audio. Burns directly to a DVD for archiving. Record 6 hours of 4 track audio and burn 1 DVD a day.

Martel's new DM246 digital court room recorder is the most significant court room audio recording system since the BM246 or Lanier Advocate 4 track cassette tape recorders were introduced in the late 1980's. It is a stand alone unit and requires no computer. The perfect court recording system.

Voice Writers are using the DM246 also. You can record the mask on channel 1 and the deposition or courtroom on the other 3 channels. Since you record in standard .wav format you can easily load the channel one into a voice recognition software such as dragon and get high accuracy voice recognition.

Today there is only one stand alone Digital 4 channel court room recorder with the ability to cover an entire court room. You can add up to 8 separate microphones into the DM246 court room recorder. The DM246 is the perfect replacement for the BM246 and the Lanier Advocate 4 channel court room tape recorders. This system is used to record formal courtroom proceedings. Four separate channels of audio allow the court administrator to isolate just the person speaking. In a noisy court environment it is often difficult to hear and understand specific voices. That is why for the last 20 years the BM246 and the Lanier Advocate court recorders were used. We now have the same exact type of recorder, but in a digital format. The DM246 court recording machine allows full control and monitoring over all 4 channels at once, or 1 separate channel at a time. The T147 4 Channel Transcription Kit allows you to control the 4 separate audio channel with a PC and a USB foot pedal for transcribing the court record. I have worked in the courtroom as a court clerk for 9 years now. We used to use the sony bm246 cassette 4 channel tape recorder for our court. We switched over to the new courtroom recording equipment dm246. The sound is superior to tape and we saved allot of money by archiving them to dvd everyday. The System dm246 court recorder has brought us up to speed on the digital recording for court. The courtroom recorder is so easy it works just like a tape recorder, except it records to a memory stick. We also hooked into the dm246 court recorder, 2 wireless microphones. Court Recorder for multi-channel digital court recording. the dm246 has recording capabilities that are ideal to record court proceedings. The channels may be played back together or separately through the 4 channel transcription kit.

I recently sold my sony bm246 court room recorder. I bought the new dm246 courtroom digital 4 channel recorder with 4 microphones. The recorder are spectacular. I should have changed along time ago to the court recorder. We looked at allot of software court recordings and found them unreliable. We have been searching for a sony bm-246 replacement for 2 years. I am so glad Martel has made the dm-246 4 track court room recorder. The dm-246 court recorder is so small and works just like a the sony bm-246. When I first saw it I knew we had found the replacement for the sony bm-246 court recorder. Me and my other co workers have been carrying around those huge Sony bm246 court room recorders for about a decade now. What a relief to have the new DM246 digital venison of the court room 4 channel recorder. Its so small it fits in a purse and weighs 2 lbs. I recommend them to all court rooms who are using the old sony bm246 tape recorders.
