This particular recorder is used by a large majority of Court Reporters in the US who can't afford Not to have an independent backup system. The recorder has simple to use buttons. Also new on this recorder is a battery indicator which tells you how much life is left in the batteries of the tape recorder. The 500LP replaces the following models 50LP,60LP, 900LP, tcm57, tcm59 and the RQL400 as the premier auto-reverse tape recorder. *Martel's 1 year warranty on this unit. 90 Days exchange for new if you get a bad unit.

Specifications:

Auto-Reverse provides uninterrupted 4 hours of recording and playback of both cassette sides with no need to turn the tape over
Record 2 hours on half speed on side A of the tape then flips itself over and records 2 more hours on side B and shuts off Quitely, the unit will not record over previous side A recordings.
Low Battery Alert System alerts the user that battery power is becoming low through the use of an LED system
Voice Mirror blinks in response to the intensity of the audible input informing the user that the amplifier system is picking up the sound
Double Recording Time gives you the option of recording on a standard cassette at either normal speed or half the normal speed, for extended recording
External Microphone Jack allows connection of an external microphone for special recording applications
22 Hour Battery Life* is made possible by advanced technology which extends battery power beyond previous limits, Actual battery time may vary upon usage pattern
